About Fred Smith: I was born in Beaumont, Texas, but left the state while very young, growing up primarily in Anchorage, Alaska. I joined the United States Air Force shortly after graduating from Robert Service High School. After a 5 ½ year tour at RAF Mildenhall, in England, and a short 10 months at Pope AFB, NC, I left active service, attended college, and joined the Texas Air National Guard, where I served as an Aircraft Quality Assurance Inspector at NAS Fort Worth JRB, Carswell Field until retiring in April, 2011. I currently work full-time at Lockheed Martin (on the other side of the flight line). I have been building models for over 35 years, and have sold over 75 pieces of my work. I probably do an equal amount of modified and out-of-the-box kits, large scratch builds and card stock models. I also enjoy a variety of music, computer games, and spending time with my kids at my home in South Fort Worth. I became a Christian at the age of nine, but it wasn’t until my time in England that I became well grounded in the Reformed Faith. Feel free to E-mail me, if you have any comments or questions. |
