Nebulon-B Frigate

This is a large, one meter long model of the Medical Frigate seen at the end of Star Wars Episode V, and again in Episode VI. It belongs to a class of ships called the Nebulon B Frigates. Presumably, there were more than one, and they were used by both the Empire and Rebel forces. I started this project a few years back and it has remained undisturbed since. It’s a tough model, surviving two moves. I started with an old drafting T-square, laminated wood, plexi-glass and polystyrene plastic to form the spine. The engine area is sheet styrene and forward structure is made from a combination of wood and plastic. The lighting and electronics need to be installed, and then all that’s left is greeblies, paneling, painting and weathering. I decided to take some artistic license and add-lib the kit bashing parts in the forward structure. Again, since there was more than one vessel, presumably no two ships would have been identical. Besides, it’s a lot easier and more fun to build freestyle. Man, I've got to find time to finish these puppies (all my unbuilt models).
